Onemove Limited is a removals company registered in England and Wales, trading as House Moving Companies. We have been moving people since 2013 to 13 years, and we do the work ourselves rather than passing it on.
We handle moves within the UK and moves that leave it, including shipping household goods out of the UK by road, sea and air. If it is something a removals company does, it is something we do.
Registered, and accountable for it
Onemove Limited is registered at Companies House under company number 08717311, incorporated in 2013. Our registered office is 14-16 Powis Street, Woolwich, London, SE18 6LF.
Those details are on every page of this site, and you can check the number against the Companies House register in about a minute. We put them in front of you because a company that will not say which legal entity you are contracting with is the first thing to walk away from, and because we expect you to apply that test to us as readily as to anyone else.
Moving home in the UK
Most of what we do is domestic: a flat across town, a family house to another county, a household of furniture that has to arrive in the same condition it left in.
The job is the same shape every time and the detail is where it goes wrong. Which floor, whether there is a lift, how close the van can get to the door, what the largest single item is, and whether the new place is ready when the old one has to be empty. We ask about all of it before quoting, because a price built on a guess is not a price.
International moves and shipping from the UK
Moving abroad is mostly the same work with paperwork attached, and the paperwork is what catches people out.
We move households to Europe by road, and further afield by sea and air. That covers export wrapping, the customs documentation, port and terminal handling, and delivery at the far end. For a full house it is usually a container of its own; for a part load it is shared container space, which costs less and takes longer. We will tell you which one your move actually needs rather than which one is easier to sell.
We also ship goods out of the UK for people who are not moving house at all, belongings following someone who has already gone, a few crates rather than a home.
What we can do
Everything a removals company does, under one company:
- Surveys and quotes, in person or by video call, so the price is based on what you own rather than an estimate over the phone
- Packing, full packing, part packing where you do the easy rooms yourself, or materials supplied for you to do it all
- Export wrapping for anything going into a container or onto a plane
- Dismantling and reassembly of beds, wardrobes and flat-pack furniture
- Loading, transport and unloading, with boxes put in the room they belong in rather than stacked by the door
- Full house moves, part loads and man and van work, from a one-bedroom flat to a four-bedroom house
- Office and commercial moves, usually out of hours so the business loses as little time as possible
- Storage, short or long term, for the gap between completion dates that almost never line up
- Fragile and high-value items, pianos, antiques, artwork and anything that needs its own crate
- International freight by road, sea and air, including shared container space for part loads
- Customs documentation and destination delivery on moves leaving the UK
- Goods in transit cover, with the per-item limit stated in writing before the day
How a move works with us
The survey. We look at what you own, in person or over a video call. It takes about twenty minutes and it is what turns an estimate into a price you can hold us to.
The quote. Written, itemised, with the access assumptions it depends on set out. If something changes, a completion date moves, the new place turns out to have no parking, tell us and we requote rather than adding it on the day.
The move. A named contact who answers the phone, and a crew who know what is going where before they arrive.
On an international move there is a fourth stage that lasts longer than the other three put together: the shipment in transit. We tell you what is happening and when, including when the honest answer is that nothing is happening this week.

Why we publish guides as well
Most of this site is not about us. It is guides on what a move costs, how to check a company before booking one, what customs will want, and what changes when you cross a border.
We write them because a customer who knows what to ask is easier to work for than one who does not, and because the questions come up so often that answering them once properly is more use than answering them badly a hundred times. The guides set the same tests for us as for any other firm. Our editorial policy explains how they are written, and what we do when one of them turns out to be wrong.
